As much as we’d LOVE (cough) to get our hands on a fresh, flavourless salad, this season says no – and you can’t argue with that.
Listen to the little voice in your head screaming ‘carbs!’ and get excited, because Brisbane is bringing the heat with all the pasta, pizza, burgers and sugary sweet exhibitions you can get your greasy hands on.
EATS
In this week’s episode of ‘shopping centres that are upping the dining game’, Everton Plaza is ready to roll out new marquee restaurants after 18 months in the works! Much beloved Latin American eatery Comuna Cantina (opening August 1) and carb hub Corbett & Claude (opening October… at some point) will be bringing their goods to the revitalised feeding grounds, with Corbett & Claude taking things to new heights at their 100-seater rooftop bar! Gird your coins and start planning that spring rooftop sesh – the Comuna Coladas will be calling.
Well, Bulimba, we hope you like burgers (and if you don’t, get out) because two new joints are headed for the hood! Ribs & Burgers opened yesterday at 171 Oxford St (straight to Google Maps with ya), with the CBD’s ever-so-missed Charboys set to move to Bulimba at some point this year. It’s a good day to be a burger fiend.
Speaking of burgers, PappaRich has a thicc bun in the oven. The sweet new burger bebe is none other than a nasi lemak burger packed with PappaRich’s signature fried chicken, peanuts, anchovies, sambal, cucumber, lettuce and mayo and topped with a fried egg. It’ll be around while stocks last from July 1, and we suggest a pinch and some lunch on the very first day it’s available.
